As you are carefully removing the wax you will need to make sure you are not getting wax back onto the countertop.

This will remove any impurities from the surface of the marble that may interfere with the sealing process. At a minimum wait at least 10 minutes for the wax to soak in. The best marble sealer is going have low or no vocs volatile organic compounds and be environmentally friendly. This will make your stone yellow.

Expect to seal every year despite popular sealant brands saying that they last three. Marble wax is used as a coating to protect the surface of the marble. It needs to have a solid manufacturer backed product warranty. This means it is nsf ansi 51 2012 compliant.

Spray the counter with a marble cleaner and buff dry with a soft cloth. There are specific marble polishes easily found. Marble is vulnerable to staining and discoloration so it should be sealed with a commercial grade stone sealer. To do this use grade 0000 steel wool.

It will usually only take a few minutes. Lastly remove the wax from your countertop. This sealant is a protective layer between the stone and the outside world. I recommend dupont stonetech bulletproof sealer.
