Marble Shower Floor Staining

If there is a stain though we haven t yet had one in here i make a natural marble poultice from mixing baking soda and water to create a paste smear the paste over the stain and cover it with cling wrap to keep the poultice in place.

I have tried marble cleaner and magic eraser. The tile store i found the tile at says they install marble all the time and have never had a problem help. Mold can stain marble bathroom countertops floors etc. Can marble be used for shower floors.

So things like lemon juice wine some household bathroom cleaners fruits and many other household items chemically react with the marble surface and actually dissolves part of the top surface of the marble. For deep set stains you may need to reapply paste. Most marble comes that way but double check with the dealer when you re purchasing it or else no amount of cleaning will keep your materials pristine. You see this most often on marble floor tile but certainly can occur on shower walls if water is getting behind the tiles providing enough moisture to leach into the marble tiles oxidize the iron deposits within the marble and carry the rusty water to the surface staining the tile.

Once it s dry 12 to 24 hours scrape the paste off and wipe with a damp cloth. Etch marks occur when your marble encounters an acidic substance. To remove stubborn stains use a poultice paste. Additionally you typically need to seal marble to prevent staining and you are very unlikely to stain the marble tiles in your shower with just regular bath products.

I thought it was soap scum at first but it is some kind of stain. I am afraid to try anything else. Mold is a common problem in many bathroom settings. These stains can be the result of a water glass that was left on a marble countertop for too long or from hard water buildup around sinks and showers.

It seems like it is under the surface of the tile. And cleaning marble rust stains is tricky. I can t find a porcelain tile similar to what i want. It stains shows dirt and looks worse over time.

It literally just appeared one day. Spread it onto the stain then cover with plastic wrap sealed with painters tape. This stain just appeared on our shower floor a couple weeks ago. Wash it off after 12 24 hours and the stain should be gone.

If water leaches into the tile it can cause the iron to rust. I found some beautiful tumbled marble 2x2 tiles for my shower floor. Water stains are yet another common stain that occurs on marble. If your shower floor is made of marble brown stains might be caused by rust.

Some people say yes as long as it s sealed well others have told me no never.
